Man Officially Changes His Name to Led Zeppelin II

A 64-year-old Bethalto, Missouri, man — who used to be called George F. Blackburn — has officially changed his name to Led Zeppelin II.

STLToday.com reports that Blackburn — sorry! Led Zeppelin II — says the change has improved his quality of life. It seems fellow Led Zeppelin fans buy him drinks when they find out about his new legal name.

Led Zeppelin II was in a courthouse dealing with the paperwork surrounding the split from his third wife when he decided to fill out one more form.

He told STL Today: “They changed my life forever, and that’s my whole reason for doing this … I don’t want to appear to be some off-the-wall drug addict idiot,” he says. “I just changed my name from the standpoint that I can be a better person than I used to be.”

Even his ex-wife calls him “LZ,” and his friends call him “Zep.”

But the burning question remains: Will his offspring change their names to Led Zeppelin III? Led Zeppelin IV? Coda?

Great idea for a name change! I think Electric Ladyland would be a great name too! :-)

Guitar concert a big success!

Thanks to all my students and their families who came along today, the concert was great! I really appreciate all effort everyone put in: practicing, traveling, and helping me with lugging around all the gear and setting up the room. Connor got things started with a great rendition of some of his favourite tunes - Smoke on the Water, Iron Man, Sunshine of Your Love, and Hapy Birthday. Emily absolutely nailed Come Together on the bass, and Mark played a beautiful acoustic rendition of Wish You Were Here. Matt did a great job playing Allegro, and Jordan rocked out the solo from You Shook Me All Night Long. Georgia got everyone’s feet tapping with an awesome performance of Sunshine of Your Love on the bass, and Marc impressed everyone with two tunes: the very difficult classical song Natalia, and a great arrangement of Fire by Jimi Hendrix. Liesa was as always fantastic with a fun acoustic arrangement of Living on a Prayer, and I finished up proceedings with an acoustic arrangement of Superstition.

Looking forward to the next one already! James :-)
